Til ki Burfi is a traditional Indian sweet which is prepared during the winter season, especially on Sankranti. It is a very simple and quick dessert which can be made with very few ingredients such as sesame seed, milk powder or mawa and sugar.
Sesame seeds are an excellent source of copper and a very good source of manganese,also they contain many other minerals as well. They also keeps our body warm during winters.
I have made my own Mawa/khoya using milk powder and cream because fresh mawa is not easily available in the place where I live. But you can make this delicious and easy burfi by using fresh mawa as well.

1/2 cup Til or white Sesame seed
1/2 cup Milk powder
1/4 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup Sugar
Little ghee for greasing plate.
Dry roast sesame seeds in a kadhai stirring continuously, till they slightly change in color. They will puff up and will become very light in weight. Keep them aside.
Once sesame seeds are cooled, grind them to a coarse mixture in mixer.
Take milk powder and cream in a pan. Switch on the flame on medium. Stir continuously for 4 -5 minutes until everything is mixed well. Mawa will be ready in few minutes. Roast this khoya/mawa in the same kadhai stirring continuously till it separates ghee and it will change its color very slightly.
Reduce the flame to low and add sugar. Mix well.
Further add coarse mixture of sesame seed and mix everything well on low flame for 1-2 min.
Switch off the flame. Grease the plate with little ghee and pour the prepared mixture.Spread it evenly.
Let it cool for few hours and when it sets, cut in desired shape.
Store in air tight container and enjoy it for a week.
Optional- chopped dry fruits and crushed cardamom can also be added .
