Normally we don’t like something sweet with our tea but the sweetness of this Tea Masala Cake goes perfect with the cup of tea or coffee. This cake is made by adding a little tea masala and it tastes great. Each and every bite is filled with flavours.
If you want to bake some different cake then this cake recipe is worth trying.
1 cup All Purpose flour (or maida)
1/4 cup Milk
1/4 cup Condensed milk
1/4 cup Unsalted butter
1/8 cup curd
1/4 cup prepared tea (Dip 1 tea bag in 1/4 cup of warm water or boil 1/4 water with 1 tsp of tea leaves for 3-4 mintues and strain it)
3 tbsp Sugar
1/4 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Cardamon powder
1/4 tsp Cinnamon powder
1/8 tsp Nutmeg powder
1 1/2 tsp Tea Masala
1 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Vanila Extract
1 tsp Vinegar
1/3 cup of chopped walnuts
1.5 tsp brown sugar
1 tbsp butter
1)Preheat the oven at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and grease a loaf pan or any baking dish.
2) Sift Maida, Baking powder, Baking soda and salt in a bowl.
3)In another large bowl, cream together butter ,sugar and condensed milk either with a hand whisk or a hand blender.
4)Slowly add milk, curd, prepared tea, vinegar and vanila extract. Mix well
5)Also add in cardamon, nutmeg and cinnamon.
6)Now add the sifted dry ingredients and mix well. Do not overmix in this step. Mix until all the dry ingredients are incorporated well.
7)Mix together walnuts, brown sugar and butter for the crust.
8)Mix half of the above prepared crust mixture in the batter and mix well.
9)Pour the prepared cake batter in the pan and top the battter with the remaining half crust topping evenly at the top of the cake.
10)Bake the cake for about 40-50 minutes in the oven.
11) Do check the cake by inserting a toothpick at the center of the cake. If the toothpick comes out clean then the cake is ready. And in case, if the toothpick comes out with wet batter on it, then do bake the cake for few more minutes.
12)Once baked, cool the cake for few minutes and then enjoy the cake slices with your tea or coffee.
